Students from Meadowland Charter District in Boerne, Texas, visited Cannon Field on Friday, November 8th for a “history lesson” and introduction to the flying museum of Alamo Liaison Squadron. Students and instructors were provided with a tour of the airfield, hangars and historic aircraft. Most were new to the experience of seeing small, 2-place aircraft up close. Museum curator, and veteran pilot, Gene Jensen led the students on the tour providing an infomative account of how these light aircraft served vital roles in many successful outcomes during combat in WWII.
Alamo Liaison Squadron is grateful for the interests expressed by all participants and welcomes future involvement by students and inquisitive patrons!
